Styrotech CNC and the America's Cup

Since the late 1990’s and through five America's Cup cycles, Styrotech CNC has been associated with syndicates competing for sports oldest trophy, the America's Cup.

Having undertaken this type of work, both directly and indirectly for more than 15 teams, including previous America's Cup holders Emirates Team NZ, Oracle Racing, Stars and Stripes and Alinghi, Styrotech CNC not only pioneered and helped develop many of the techniques and methods that are now standard boat building practice, but in the process accumulated the knowledge, skill and expertise needed to complete virtually any project to the highest possible standard. And now, with the addition of the 3D scanning services offered by Styrotech CNC’s sister company, FormScan 3D, Styrotech CNC is in a strong position to offer an exceptional level of service

Styrotech CNC is a company with a wide range of skills and experience including the CNC machining of plugs, un-surfaced moulds, and rudder and centreboard cores. Styrotech CNC has considerable experience outside of the marine industry including the manufacture of un-surfaced tooling, pattern making, design, prototyping, hull frames, engraving as well as sheet and precision cutting requirements. Styrotech CNC is well suited to small and medium sized jobs – no jobs are too small – and we have considerable experience in using polystyrene and MDF.

From exceptionally tight manufacturing tolerances to an ever present awareness of confidentiality, Styrotech CNC is comfortable with, and experienced in the nature of the America's Cup.
